RJC participates in 3rd session of Russian-Sudanese commission on trade and economic cooperation
On December 20-22, 2015, RJC General Director Mikhail Kornilov took a part in the 3rd session of Russian-Sudanese commission on trade and economic cooperation in Khartoum, Sudan.
During the session of the commission, RJC suggested to the Ministry of Minerals of the Republic of Sudan the concerted work on harmonization of standards and requirements for primary geological data in digital form to prepare such geological data for exchange between countries, as well as on harmonization of standards for resource estimation reports.
As a part of realizing propositions stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (signed in October 2015 between RJC and the Ministry of Minerals of the Republic of Sudan to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of modernization in mining industry of Sudan), the agreement with the Geological Research Authority of Sudan was signed during the commission in Khartoum. The parties agreed to carry out a pilot exploration project at J. Moya Gossans site. A development of the project IT standard and the AGR system implementation will be RJC’s main tasks for this property. Considering the results of the pilot project there will be a decision made on implementing the AGR System to the state geological services of the Republic of Sudan.
The agreement was signed in front of the Minister of Natural resources and Ecology of Russian Federation Dr. Sergey Donskoy, and the Minister of Minerals of the Republic of Sudan Dr. Ahmed Sadig Al-Karouri.
